What are our YFC brothers up to?
Pictured to the right: JD Duran & Father, Dado Duran
From May 8, 2017 to May 14, 2017 JD & his dad traveled to Tempe, Arizona so that he could compete in the sport of Wheelchair Racing at "Desert Challenge Games" otherwise known as one of the track meets for the World Para-Athletics Grand Prix that is recognized by the International Paralympic Committee.
He competed/raced in four track events (100m, 200m, 400m, and 1500m) and was able to place 2nd in the Men's T52 200m Final, taking home a silver medal. Despite only receiving one medal, he earned "personal best times" in all four of my races. Additionally, other racers whom he competed against were tough competitors simply due to the fact that they have many more years of racing experience and are current World Champions and Paralympic Champions.
Woot, woot! Go, JD!
